Let's flatten our loved Gregorian calendar by one month per line.

Nice and compact. Too bad that months are not equal length though.
But let's align weekends?

What! This can't be right. It is too wide and spiky. Could you add week numbers to put some sense to it?

It is wider, but hopefully clearer. Let's see. Week number 1, number 2, 3, 4, 5, 5. No, no, this makes no sense. Weeks span over consecutive months. Why is there a week numbered 1 at the end of the year? This is terrible! Who made up this mess? Roman emperors? Popes? We could do better nowadays, right?
Let's see. We want some logic:
• months of equal length;
• weeks that won't break;
• consistent numbering of weeks;
• nice alignment of weekends.
This sounds too good. We surely can't create such a thing. Or could we?

Hmm. But you have an extra day or two at the end of the year.
And there is an extra month!
Where is my birthday?
Every month starts with the same weekday.
This is BORING!

But wait... I don't have to buy new wall calendar every year?
I don't even need to have more than one printed month. Just change the number or the name of a month.
Now my sales statistics would align neatly and make a lot more sence.
I won't have to look up what weekday is that of any date.
I get paid the same in first two months of the year because the months have equal amount of workdays. Not like in Gregorian January(31) and February(28) where there could be difference of 3 workdays.
I can plan my vacation every year on the same dates.
We can switch to summer or wintertime always at the fixed date.
I can actually put weeknumbers in practice. They are fixed to place. No spliting into separate months or years.
Putting extra day and leapday to the end of the year we can even fix not only week numbers but every single day has a fixed number between 1 and 366. When is your birthday? Mine is 265th.
National holidays and moving religious events get fixed dates and weekdays. Sadly no more surprises every year.
Birthdays needs to be recalculated and fixed to a sertain weekday.
Monthly subscriptions to anything would be more fair.
Typical pregnancy lasts 40 weeks and this is exactly 10 months not about 9 months and 2 weeks.

Why weeks start with monday?
You don't want to have friday the thirteenth in every month, do you?

Thirteen divides badly. You can't lay it out 3x4.
Yes, but as seen, it all can be set as rows or... columns. There is no need to group weeks into rectangles but even then it would look nicer and compact to have 4 weeks in every month rather than randomly 4 to 6 weeks.
